{"id":17113,"date":"2022-11-28T19:23:00","date_gmt":"2022-11-28T11:23:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/jesseltontimes.com\/wpmarch2025\/?p=17113"},"modified":"2022-11-28T19:23:00","modified_gmt":"2022-11-28T11:23:00","slug":"sabah-consolidated-fund-up-16-5-per-cent-to-rm3-431-billion","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jesseltontimes.com\/wpmarch2025\/2022\/11\/28\/sabah-consolidated-fund-up-16-5-per-cent-to-rm3-431-billion\/","title":{"rendered":"Sabah Consolidated Fund up 16.5 per cent to RM3.431 billion"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>KOTA KINABALU: The Sabah government Consolidated Fund registered an increase of\u00a0RM484.80 million or 16.5 per cent to RM3.431 billion in 2021 from RM2.947 billion in 2020, according to a report tabled in the Sabah State Assembly today.<br \/>\nThe Auditor-General\u2019s Report (LKAN) on Financial Statements of Sabah State Government and Agencies\u00a0 for 2021\u00a0stated that the Consolidated Revenue Account registered a surplus of\u00a0RM931.57 million, increasing by RM1.866 billion or\u00a0199.7 per cent compared to a deficit of\u00a0RM934.63 million in 2020.<br \/>\n\u201cThe financial position of the Sabah state government for the year ended Dec 31, 2021 is\u00a0stable on the whole,\u201d he report said.<\/p>\n<p>LKAN said that in 2021, revenue collected by the state government totalled\u00a0RM5.450 billion, an increase of\u00a0RM1.859 billion or\u00a051.8 per cent compared to 2020\u2019s collection of\u00a0RM3.591 billion.<br \/>\nIt said operating expenditure rose\u00a0RM57.44 million or\u00a01.6 per cent to\u00a0RM3.718 billion in 2021, compared to RM3.661 billion in 2020.<br \/>\n\u201cLast year\u00a0RM1.119 billion in development expenditure was approved and RM879.92 million was spent,\u201d the report said.<br \/>\nAccording to the report, 812 projects were planned for 2021 and\u00a047 projects were completed, 367 project are\u00a0being implemented and 398 projects have yet to be implemented.<br \/>\nMeanwhile, the 2021\u00a0LKAN Series 1 on Activities of Ministries\/Departments and Management of Sabah Government Companies said the state government had disbursed aid totalling\u00a0RM179.07 million for the benefit of 392,819 Heads of Households\u00a0(KIR) and\u00a010 departments through the Sabah We Care Bantuan COVID-19 programme.<br \/>\n&#8220;A sum of\u00a0RM159.12 million for the benefit of\u00a0372,813 KIR and departments was\u00a0distributed throughout the critical period from the Movement Control Order\u00a0(MCO) until Conditional MCO,\u201d the report said.<br \/>\nIt also said the management of repairs to slopes along state and federal roads in Sabah\u00a0was not efficient\u00a0and effective\u00a0enough to achieve the objectives of slope management.<br \/>\nBetween\u00a02018 and\u00a02020, a total of\u00a065 to\u00a085.3 per cent of targeted slopes had yet to be repaired, and one of the reasons for this was that allocations approved\u00a0for the projects were insufficient.<br \/>\n&#8220;Physical inspections conducted at project sites showed that physical damage was caused by a lack of routine maintenance after the projects were completed.\u00a0This affected the stability and strength of roadside slopes.
