{"id":16527,"date":"2022-11-08T19:12:36","date_gmt":"2022-11-08T11:12:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/jesseltontimes.com\/wpmarch2025\/?p=16527"},"modified":"2022-11-08T19:12:36","modified_gmt":"2022-11-08T11:12:36","slug":"ge15-grs-launches-13-point-manifesto-for-sabah","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jesseltontimes.com\/wpmarch2025\/2022\/11\/08\/ge15-grs-launches-13-point-manifesto-for-sabah\/","title":{"rendered":"GE15: GRS launches 13-point manifesto for Sabah"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>KOTA KINABALU: \u00a0Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) today launched its manifesto for the 15th General Election containing\u00a013 thrusts\u00a0that took into account the views and sentiments of the people, its chairman\u00a0Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor said.\u00a0<br \/>\nThe Sabah Chief Minister said first among the 13 was to empower the state economy and the people of Sabah through\u00a0agriculture, industrialisation and tourism, while the second is aimed\u00a0at empowering energy resources, including a takeover of\u00a0the management of Sabah Electricity Sdn Bhd while also exploring more new energy sources or renewable energy.<br \/>\nAs for the third thrust, Hajiji said\u00a0continued efforts to ensure all claims\u00a0pertaining to the\u00a0rights\u00a0of\u00a0Sabah and its people based on the Federal\u00a0Constitution and the\u00a0Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63)\u00a0will be taken\u00a0while the fourth is to ensure the Federal government improves the level of security and\u00a0education facilities by upgrading dilapidated schools in Sabah\u00a0as well as\u00a0health facilities.\u00a0<br \/>\nAmong the other thrusts include focus being given on the development of women, family and communities;\u00a0encouraging the participation of youths in the country\u2019s development; and empowering Sabah&#8217;s public service administration, he added.\u00a0<br \/>\nAlso present at the launch held at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC) were GRS component party leaders, namely\u00a0Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) president\u00a0Datuk Seri Dr Maximus Ongkili,\u00a0Parti Solidariti Tanah Airku (STAR) president\u00a0Datuk Seri\u00a0Dr Jefffry Kitingan,\u00a0Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) president\u00a0Datuk Seri Yong Teck Lee and\u00a0United Sabah National Organisation (USNO) president\u00a0Tan Sri Pandikar Amin Mulia.<br \/>\nHajiji said increasing involvement in the oil and gas industry besides giving more importance to the implementation of basic infrastructure, especially in expediting the completion of the Pan Borneo highway project were also among the main points of the manifesto.<br \/>\nGRS is also pledging more housing facilities, including speeding up the implementation of the Rumah Mesra Sabah Maju Jaya (SMJ) housing programme, amounting to 1,500 units and to improve land management matters such as the issuance of land grants, he added.<br \/>\nHe said ensuring poltical stability in the state, racial unity, justice and the people\u2019s wellbeing as well as the the restoration of 35 per cent of the 222 parliamentary seats to Sabah and Sarawak completes the 13-thrust manifesto.<br \/>\nHajiji said the manifesto was based on GRS\u2019 four pillars of the state\u2019s development objectives, namely Sabah First, Sabah Forward, Sabah Prosper, Sabah United.<br \/>\nThe GRS manifesto puts the interests of the state and the people as a whole.
