{"id":15167,"date":"2022-09-09T13:48:52","date_gmt":"2022-09-09T05:48:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/jesseltontimes.com\/wpmarch2025\/?p=15167"},"modified":"2022-09-09T13:48:52","modified_gmt":"2022-09-09T05:48:52","slug":"hajiji-no-second-thought-when-it-comes-to-security","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jesseltontimes.com\/wpmarch2025\/2022\/09\/09\/hajiji-no-second-thought-when-it-comes-to-security\/","title":{"rendered":"Hajiji: No second thought when it comes to security"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>KOTA KINABALU: The State Government has no hesitation when it comes to beefing up security in Sabah, said Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Hajiji Haji Noor.<br \/>\n\u201cSecurity is of highest importance and we will give our utmost cooperation when considering matters seeking the State Government\u2019s approval,\u201d he said.<br \/>\nSpeaking after a briefing by the Royal Malaysian Police on current security situation in Sabah led by Inspector-General of Police, Tan Sri Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani at Menara Kinabalu near here today, Hajiji said state security is on top of his agenda.<br \/>\n\u201cI have been raising this issue all the time. The latest was during the meeting of the Special Council on Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63) yesterday (chaired by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob).<br \/>\n\u201cI have requested for an increase in allocation to strengthen our security assets, especially on the East Coast,\u201d he said.<br \/>\nThe Chief Minister reiterated his call for the General Operations Force (GOF) security outposts at the Malaysia &#8211; Indonesia border in Sebatik Island to be upgraded.<br \/>\nHajiji had visited three of the GOF outposts namely Burst-Point, Wallace Bay and Sungai Melayu earlier this week.<br \/>\nDuring the briefing, the Chief Minister was told that two new GOF battalions would be set up at Nabawan and Kunak in addition to the existing five battalions in the state.<br \/>\nWith seven GOF battalions, Sabah will have the largest GOF presence in the country.<br \/>\nAlso proposed was the establishment of the Skuadron 69 Commando in Lahad Datu, Sabah police marine new base in Kampung Lok Poring, Sepanggar and a police training centre or Pulapol at Kampung Laya-Laya, Tuaran.<br \/>\nOn the request for an additional area at the police air unit base in Tanjung Aru, Hajiji informed that it had already been approved.<br \/>\nAccompanying Acryl were Bukit Aman Internal Security and Public Order Department Director Datuk Hazani Ghazali, Sabah Commissioner of Police Datuk Idris Abdullah as well as senior officers from Bukit Aman and Sabah Police Headquarters.<br \/>\nAlso at the briefing were State Attorney-General, Datuk Nor Asiah Yusof, Sabah Internal Affairs and Research Secretary Datuk Awang Shaminan Sahari and Internal Security Undersecretary Zulkifli Abidin.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>KOTA KINABALU: The State Government has no hesitation when it comes to beefing up security in Sabah, said Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Hajiji Haji Noor. \u201cSecurity is of highest importance and we will give our utmost cooperation when considering matters seeking the State Government\u2019s approval,\u201d he said.
