{"id":13781,"date":"2022-07-10T07:38:51","date_gmt":"2022-07-09T23:38:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/jesseltontimes.com\/wpmarch2025\/?p=13781"},"modified":"2022-07-10T07:38:51","modified_gmt":"2022-07-09T23:38:51","slug":"six-students-detained-over-beating-case-in-sabah","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jesseltontimes.com\/wpmarch2025\/2022\/07\/10\/six-students-detained-over-beating-case-in-sabah\/","title":{"rendered":"Six students detained over beating case in Sabah"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>KOTA KINABALU: Police have detained six female students in connection with a video of a schoolgirl being beaten up by several others, which has gone viral since Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>Kota Kinabalu district police chief ACP Mohd Zaidi Abdullah said police believed that the incident involved students from a secondary school in Inanam here and the case was being investigated under Section 147 of the Penal Code.<\/p>\n<p>He said the victim\u2019s father lodged a report over the incident yesterday which led to the arrest of the six students aged 13 to 16.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA 17-year-old girl who is a former student of the school is also detained to assist in the investigation,\u201d he said in a statement on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>Mohd Zaidi said police viewed such cases seriously and would not compromise with any form of bullying or violence involving students.<\/p>\n<p>He also advised the public to not simply upload any videos that could cause concern among the community.<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 BERNAMA<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp; KOTA KINABALU: Police have detained six female students in connection with a video of a schoolgirl being beaten up by several others, which has gone viral since Thursday.
