KOTA KINABALU: Datuk Kadoh Agundong, who was once dubbed as ‘giant-killer’ for defeating then Sabah Chief Minister (Datuk) Harris Salleh in the 1985 state elections, has died aged 73,\u00a0 following a long illness.<\/p>\n

The passing of the former Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) stalwart went viral on social media since 7.30 am today,<\/p>\n

According to the social media reports, Kadoh passed away early today at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital near here.<\/p>\n

During the PBS administration, Kadoh served
\nas Sabah Youth and Sports Minister before being appointed as Local Government and Housing Minister in the mid 1980s.<\/p>\n

PBS vice president Datuk Johnny Mositun said
\nhe was shocked at the news of the passing of Datuk Kadoh Agundong early today.
\n\"\"<\/p>\n

“My condolences to his family;” he said.<\/p>\n

Mositun acknowledged that the late Kadoh had contributed immensely to the early struggle of PBS.<\/p>\n

“Kadoh has buoyed our spirits to fight for the rights of Sabahans and the state. We never expect the late Kadoh to dethrone the then Sabah Chief Minister in 1985 state electios. <\/p>\n

“This was a historic victory for PBS led by Tan Sri Joseph Pairin Kitingan at that time and until now, we still remember him (Kadoh)\u00a0 as a giant killer,” he said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
