BALIK PULAU: Bersatu supreme council member\u00a0Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali has asked all quarters not to equate him with his former ally Datuk Zuraida Kamarudin, who has defected to\u00a0Parti Bangsa Malaysia (PBM).
\nMohamed Azmin, who is Senior International Trade and Industry Minister, said he would continue his struggle and serve the people through Bersatu.
\n“I\u00a0think there is no need to compare me with others\u00a0(Zuraida) because I did not choose\u00a0Bersatu under\u00a0compulsion. In fact, I joined this party (Bersatu) because it is close to my heart as I want a progressive and inclusive party.
\nHe said this when asked to comment on the statements of several parties who compared him with Zuraida, who left Bersatu to join PBM on May 26.
\nMohamed Azmin also said he is\u00a0prepared to stand anywhere in the next general election, including\u00a0 defending the Gombak parliamentary seat, as decided by\u00a0the Bersatu leadership.
\nHe also dismissed rumours\u00a0that he might be rejoining PKR as he had allegedly met two PKR emissaries at Hotel Sheraton in Petaling Jaya recently.
\n\u201cI met\u00a0a lot of people and visited many hotels;\u00a0I don\u2019t remember whom I met. But that is just speculation,” he said.
