{"id":12200,"date":"2022-05-09T21:38:11","date_gmt":"2022-05-09T13:38:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/jesseltontimes.com\/wpmarch2025\/?p=12200"},"modified":"2022-05-09T21:38:11","modified_gmt":"2022-05-09T13:38:11","slug":"usno-accepted-into-grs-coalition-hajiji","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jesseltontimes.com\/wpmarch2025\/2022\/05\/09\/usno-accepted-into-grs-coalition-hajiji\/","title":{"rendered":"USNO accepted into GRS coalition &#8211; Hajiji"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>KOTA KINABALU: The\u00a0United Sabah National Organisation (USNO) was today accepted as a new component party of\u00a0Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS), said GRS chairman Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor.<br \/>\nThe Sabah Chief Minister said the decision was made at the GRS Supreme Council meeting that he chaired today.<br \/>\nHe added that the applications by three other parties, namely\u00a0Parti Kesejahteraan Demokratik Masyarakat (KDM),\u00a0Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) and Parti Cinta Sabah (PCS), have yet to be decided.<br \/>\nWe truly appreciate their (KDM, LDP and PCS) applications to join GRS but we, in a consensus, feel that we still need a little more time to interact and increase understanding\u2026\u00a0we need to know each other better first.<br \/>\n&#8220;Their applications were received one or two months ago, but our rationale in accepting USNO is because it applied over a year ago. However, we will also involve KDM, LDP and PCS in GRS activities next time,\u201d he told a media conference at Menara Kinabalu here today.<br \/>\nAlso present were\u00a0Parti Bersatu Sabah\u00a0(PBS) president\u00a0Datuk Seri Dr Maximus Ongkili,\u00a0Parti Solidariti Tanah Airku (STAR) president\u00a0Datuk Seri Dr Jeffrey Kitingan and Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) president Datuk Yong Teck Lee.<br \/>\nGRS, which was registered as an official coalition in March, comprises Bersatu, PBS, STAR, SAPP and, now, USNO.<br \/>\nAsked about its cooperation with Perikatan Nasional (PN), Hajiji said their focus now was to strengthen the cooperation among the component parties in GRS.<br \/>\nHe added that the GRS Supreme Council also agreed to form a solidarity cooperation committee between GRS and Barisan Nasional (BN), which has now forged close cooperation in the Sabah government.<br \/>\nOur aim is to unite all the parties in GRS and BN so that we can face the 15th General Election together, if possible let there be no contests between GRS and BN,\u201d he said.<br \/>\nMeanwhile, Hajiji said GRS would be officially launched at an event to be held at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC) here on May 26.<br \/>\n&#8212; BERNAMA<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>KOTA KINABALU: The\u00a0United Sabah National Organisation (USNO) was today accepted as a new component party of\u00a0Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS), said GRS chairman Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor.
