{"id":1060,"date":"2021-02-05T20:48:35","date_gmt":"2021-02-05T12:48:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/jesseltontimes.com\/wpmarch2025\/?p=1060"},"modified":"2021-02-08T17:53:57","modified_gmt":"2021-02-08T09:53:57","slug":"dont-be-hasty-deciding-on-zii-jias-future-rashid","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jesseltontimes.com\/wpmarch2025\/2021\/02\/05\/dont-be-hasty-deciding-on-zii-jias-future-rashid\/","title":{"rendered":"Don&#8217;t be hasty deciding on Zii Jia&#8217;s future &#8211; Rashid"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>KUALA LUMPUR (BERNAMA): National badminton legend Datuk Rashid Sidek feels that the Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) are wiser and more knowledgeable in determining the direction to be taken by national men\u2019s singles player Lee Zii Jia\u2019s after his poor display at three tournaments in Thailand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He said there was no need for BAM to be hasty in making a decision but instead find a solution together with national men\u2019s singles chief coach Hendrawan to boost Zii Jia\u2019s reputation on the competitive stage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIndeed, (BAM) must review first instead of suddenly changing the coach. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Currently, BAM have their own committee, namely, the coaching and training (C&amp;T) committee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI feel it is good if BAM themselves decide whether the current coach is okay or not or (Zii Jia) must go back to (training under) Datuk Misbun Sidek.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWhat is important is that there is discussion first as Misbun is still in BAM,\u201d he told Bernama recently.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Rashid said this when commenting on the urgings of various parties that BAM take drastic measures, including appointing Misbun again to guide the national singles champion, in an effort to get Zii Jia back on track.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Zii Jia\u2019s poor performances in the three meets in Thailand last month drew numerous criticisms, including those who questioned the credibility of Hendrawan for supposedly failing to have an impact on the shuttler\u2019s style of play.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s not easy to change the coach.
