{"id":10270,"date":"2022-02-20T20:01:28","date_gmt":"2022-02-20T12:01:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/jesseltontimes.com\/wpmarch2025\/?p=10270"},"modified":"2022-02-20T20:01:28","modified_gmt":"2022-02-20T12:01:28","slug":"30-houses-affected-in-kampung-long-pasia-flash-floods","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jesseltontimes.com\/wpmarch2025\/2022\/02\/20\/30-houses-affected-in-kampung-long-pasia-flash-floods\/","title":{"rendered":"30 houses affected in Kampung Long Pasia flash floods"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>KOTA KINABALU:  Thirty houses in Kampung Long Pasia, Sipitang, have been hit by flash floods today, following heavy rain in the area since yesterday afternoon.<br \/>\nThe Sabah Disaster Management Committee Secretariat, in a statement, said continuous rain in the area, which started at about 2 pm yesterday until this morning, had caused the Sungai Long Pasia to overflow into the village area.<br \/>\n\u201cThe rise in the water level of Sungai Long Pasia is also due to the merging of floodwater from Sungai Padas in Tenom,\u201d read the statement.<br \/>\nIt also said that the weather this afternoon in the area was cloudy, and the water level in Sungai Long Pasia was receding.<br \/>\nKampung Long Pasia has about 700 residents and is located about 300 kilometres southwest of Kota Kinabalu,\u00a01,000 metres above sea level in the Maligan highlands.<br \/>\nIt also said that thus far no temporary relief centre (PPS) have been opened, and currently only four-wheel-drive vehicles can pass Jalan Long Pasia-Meligan.<br \/>\n\u201cFood baskets will be distributed to the affected residents tomorrow using four-wheel-drive vehicles,\u201d it said.<br \/>\n&#8212; BERNAMA<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>KOTA KINABALU: Thirty houses in Kampung Long Pasia, Sipitang, have been hit by flash floods today, following heavy rain in the area since yesterday afternoon.
