KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Umno, led by Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin, has made it clear that they will not form alliances with political parties that aim to undermine them in the upcoming state election.
According to FMT, Bung emphasised that Umno does not want to be deceived by its partners again, following the successful formation of the state government.
The decision on which party to collaborate with has not been finalised, but Bung stressed that Umno will not work with any party that consistently betrays or undermines them.
While there have been speculations about a potential partnership between Sabah Umno and Warisan, Bung did not mention any specific party.
Umno had withdrawn its support for GRS chairman Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor as chief minister last year due to feeling marginalised.
Bung said that Umno is prepared to face any party in the upcoming state election and emphasised the importance of strengthening the state chapter before considering cooperation with other parties, as advised by Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
