KOTA KINABALU: A seven-foot crocodile was successfully captured in a drain in an incident at Teluk Likas Jalan Tun Fuad near here last night.
The Chief of the Kota Kinabalu Fire and Rescue Department, Ordine Gilu, stated that they took action to capture the crocodile using a snare after receiving an emergency call at 12:21 am earlier.
He said that the crocodile was brought to the Fire and Rescue Department and will be handed over to the Department of Wildlife for further action.
“The Kota Kinabalu Fire and Rescue team, along with eight members, arrived at the scene at 12:30 am, led by Operations Commander Sulastri Hassan,” he said in a statement today.
The order stated that after ensuring everyone was safe, the operation was concluded at 1 a.m.
