KOTA KINABALU: On May 16th, 2024, the Court of Appeal will hear the Federal Government’s appeal against the High Court decision to grant leave to the Sabah Law Society for a judicial review on the Federal Government’s constitutional obligation to pay 40% of all its revenue derived from Sabah, in accordance with Article 112C, Article 112D, and Section 2, Part IV of the Tenth Schedule in the Federal Constitution.
The outcome of this appeal will have a tremendous impact on the future of Sabah.
This is a crucial moment to stand up for the principles of the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63) and ensure that Sabah’s rights within the federation are respected.
To show our support for the Sabah Law Society’s legal action against the Federal Government, let us all gather at the High Court in Kota Kinabalu on May 16th, 2024.
Our presence will impress upon the authorities in Kuala Lumpur that Sabah’s constitutional rights must be judiciously respected.
This is a call to action for all Sabahans who believe in the fair and equitable treatment of our state within the Malaysian federation.
Let us unite and make our voices heard on this pivotal day.
