KIULU: UPKO president Datuk Ewon Benedick said that the party will continue to work hard towards maintaining Tuaran as a stronghold for UPKO.
He said Tuaran has consistently been won by the party in every election since 1999.
Ewon emphasised that UPKO’s influence in Tuaran is evident and hopes that this success will inspire other divisions within UPKO to establish their own strongholds.
He made these remarks in his keynote address and closing speech for the UPKO Zone B Convention (Tuaran and Sepanggar) at the Kiulu Community Hall on Sunday.
He also commended the efforts of Datuk Madius Tangau and Datuk Wilfred Bumburing for their contributions to UPKO’s success in Tuaran.
Ewon encouraged the involvement of young individuals in UPKO to further strengthen the party’s position in Tuaran.
