SANDAKAN: IJM Land has recently launched and revealed a recycling hub in the Bandar Utama township of Sandakan. The event was graced by the presence of Mr. Henry Idol, the President of Majlis Perbandaran Sandakan, who served as the Guest-of-Honour.
This outreach event aimed to make recycling more accessible and convenient for the residents and the community as a whole.
Steven Goh, the regional head of IJM Land, expressed his hopes that this facility would encourage residents to segregate and deposit their recyclable items easily. During the launch, Mr. Henry Idol was accompanied by residents who actively participated in the green recycle drive. This event not only marked the opening of the recycling hub but also aimed to inspire the community to embrace a greener lifestyle.
The recycling day event received an overwhelming response from the residents, with a total of 832.5kg of recyclables collected. Additionally, the event featured a kids’ colouring contest on recycling-related topics and a trash to cash program.
This collaborative initiative between IJM Land and Majlis Perbandaran Sandakan aims to cultivate better recycling habits among residents, with the added incentive of cashback rewards. It serves as a testament to our support for their commitment to environmental sustainability.
