KOTA KINABALU: All involved agencies must work together closely to ensure that all development projects worth RM6.6 billion approved under the 12th Malaysia Plan (12MP) Rolling Plan 4 (RP4) can be implemented this year.
Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Hajiji Noor said that this year, Sabah will be carrying out various development projects such as the construction of premises (Tamu Desa), repairs, cleaning, and maintenance of the Tuaran River, flood mitigation projects, the construction of new schools, the upgrading and maintenance of dilapidated schools, and the construction of new health clinics.
He emphasised the importance of synergy between state and federal government agencies to ensure the immediate implementation of all these projects for the benefit of the people.
“Everyone must have a high level of commitment and work quickly to solve problems with the spirit of Malaysia Madani and Sabah Maju Jaya to provide the best service to the people and the development of Sabah.
“The old method of service delivery is no longer suitable for the effective implementation of every government policy,” he said here on Tuesday.
Hajiji added that, besides, government agencies must fully utilise technology, including digitalization, to enhance government service delivery.
“This is important to ensure that the government becomes a facilitator for all parties, especially the private sector, which drives the country’s economy.
“I also reiterate the call for all representatives and department heads to go down to the ground so that issues affecting the people can be resolved promptly,” Hajiji explained.
He said that as of January 2024, Sabah has spent a total of RM4.9 billion, or 97.01 percent of the allocation under the 12MP RP3.
“The government is committed to attracting high-value investments through catalytic initiatives under the Madani economic framework, the National Energy Transition Roadmap (NETR), and the New Industrial Master Plan 2030 (NIMP).
“One of the sectors that will benefit from this strategy is the construction sector, as the government has allocated RM72.3 billion for transportation, water, and energy,” added Hajiji.
