KIULU: The construction of the Kiulu Subdistrict Secretariat, costing RM5 million, will start soon, said Sabah Chief Minister, Datuk Seri Hajiji Haji Noor.
He said the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) state government acted immediately to elevate Kiulu to that of a sub-district within three months after coming into power.
“We will develop Kiulu as a tourism destination because it has one of the most community-based tourism (CoBT) operators in the state, for which Kiulu assemblyman Datuk Joniston Bangkuai has worked hard to make Kiulu a CoBT tourism hub,” he said.
Hajiji said this when officiating the annual general meeting of Party Gagasan Rakyat Sabah (Gagasan Rakyat) Kiulu Division at the Kiulu Multipurpose Hall today.
Hajiji, who is also the Gagasan Rakyat president, urged party members to be wary of the slander culture that is prevalent on social media.
“I want all our members to correct all false accusations on social media spread by irresponsible people.
“The government has achieved many successes, but many want to deny it through slander. “We cannot let the people be disturbed by the actions of this irresponsible party,” he said.
The GRS chairman said it was important for Gagasan Rakyat to work with its partners to thwart attempts to destabilize the government.
As Chief Minister, he said he will fight for all Sabahans regardless of race, religion, and background.
Also present were Joniston, Kiulu Gagasan Rakyat Chief, Janih Bangud, STAR Secretary General, Datuk Edward Linggu, and UPKO Vice President, Fairuz Bandar.
