KOTA BELUD: Usukan Assemblyman Datuk Seri Dr Salleh Said Keruak has urged the public to avail themselves of the open day programme, which is organised by the District Education Office (PPD) as it is good for the country’s educational system.
This is significant because such a program strengthens PPD’s relationship with the community, he said.
PPD Open Day, Salleh added, is the ideal platform to share the most up-to-date information on education policies and services with stakeholders, clients and strategic partners, as well as showcase the talents and innovations of students and educators.
“This is a chance for government departments, statutory agencies, non-governmental organisations, social partners, local communities, parents, and students to gain a better understanding of the functions and duties of PPD,” he said.
Salleh said in his speech at the inaugural ceremony of the 2023 Open Day Program here today.
Also presenr was Kota Belud district education officer Dr Japran Kusin.
On education, the former chief minister of Sabah said that traditional learning methods need to be updated to keep up with modern technological developments so that future generations are not left behind.
In today’s world, education is associated with sustainability, survival, competition, growth and development.
“From the point of view of human civilization’s sustainability, education is a continuous process of advancing the human brain, society and country to make it more progressive and relevant,” he said.
